Shakura Malaysia – Finding the Right Foundation for Your Skin

Finding the right foundation for your skin is like opening a box of chocolates – you aren’t really sure what it is going to be until you try it! If you covet a natural and polished foundation look, you are not alone. The fact is that with a few careful considerations, you will be on your way to flawless foundation.

Skin Type 101

Start with your skin type. Are you dry or oily or a little of both (dry on the cheeks and oily in the T-zone)? If you have dry skin, you are probably better off sticking with a liquid foundation. Some brands offer a hydrating powder foundation, but you can’t go wrong with liquid. Oily skin in the other hand, required oil-free or water based foundation or a powder foundation – otherwise you will look like you dipped your face in oil and need to blot for the rest of the day.

It’s all about the Finish!

Do you want your finished product (your face) to have a semi-matte, matte or light reflecting appearance? If you are very oily, a matte finish is the most oil absorbing. A semi-matte finish will give you a natural look and if you are slightly oily your foundation will look dewy. Light-reflecting or illumining is perfect if your skin is mature, pale or dull and the reason is because the foundation has tiny crushed micro-pearls to reflect light.

Choosing the Right Shade or Color

The best way to choose the right shade or color foundation for you is to go to a professional and let them color fit you; however, if that is not an option, there are some tricks to finding the right match for you.

Do you have cool or warm undertones? Look at the inside of your wrist. Do the veins appear to be blue? When you are in the sun do you burn? It is likely that you have cool undertones and should look for a foundation that has a rosy or blue base. If the veins inside your wrist appear to have a greenish tint and you tan fairly easy, then you most likely have warm undertones and should look for a foundation that has a yellow base.

If your veins look blue and green then you may be a neutral, which means that you can wear either cool or warm foundation (depending on the shade).

To test the shade, take a Q-tip and draw a line along the center of the jaw line. If the foundation blends with your natural complexion, then you know you have found the right foundation for your skin! Follow Beauty Shakura For More Great Tips!

6 Steps You Can Take To Get Flawless Skin Every Day

Everyone today wants to have flawless skin. You do not want to have to deal with blemishes, lines or puffiness around your face. Getting this type of skin does require a little work. Fortunately, a combination of simple techniques and products can give you the results that you want. You can take a series of basic steps to have flawless skin every day.

Cleanse Twice To Start

The first step is cleanse twice when starting your skin care or makeup routine. Begin by using a typical cleanser in order to remove any bacteria, makeup residue or other substances from your skin. Use a good cleanser for this. The second cleansing should involve using a milder foaming product with a light consistency. Cleansing twice gives you a clean and clear base for all the other steps.

Exfoliate Your Skin

The next step is to exfoliate your skin after the double cleansing. Exfoliation does something that cleansing cannot. It directly removes the layer of dead skin cells on your face and neck. This reveals a new and younger layer of skin underneath. You want to do this just once a day or every two days. You can use an exfoliating cream to get the job done or you can use an electric exfoliating system with a handheld scrubber.

Apply a Gentle Toner

You want to apply a gentle toner after exfoliating. A toner does a few important things for your skin. The first thing is to actually tighten your skin so that wrinkles or minor bumps become less noticeable. The toner also helps to remove any remaining residue that might still be hidden in your skin. A final important job of a toner is to balance the pH of your skin so that nothing will interfere with the makeup you apply later. Do not use harsh toners that are made mainly from alcohol.

Add Some Nutrients to Your Skin

You now want to add some nutrients to your skin. There are many names for this type of skin care product. It is commonly referred to as a serum, essence or booster. These products are sometimes ignored or forgotten. The purpose of applying these gels to your face is to add essential nutrients that will enhance your appearance and prevent skin problems. They can reduce any wrinkles and fight the signs of ageing. Do not skip this step.

Use A Little Eye Cream

The areas around your eyes are very sensitive and delicate. You need special eye cream for these areas. The reason to use the cream is that the space around your eyes can become a little swollen or even dark. Small wrinkles can start to appear over time. A good eye cream will reduce puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles.

Put On a Facial Moisturiser

The final step is to put on a facial moisturiser. Use a light and clean moisturiser that does not contain a large amount of greasy ingredients. The moisturiser will create a protective layer over your skin that can last for much of the day. It also keeps your skin soft and supple so that it looks healthy. Apply the moisturiser and allow it to soak into your skin for around 10 to 15 minutes before continuing. This last step will leave you with flawless skin for whatever makeup you want to apply next.

You want to do these steps in order for the best results. Your skin will come out of this process feeling fresh, tight and smooth. The makeup you apply afterwards will look better. Just a few simple steps can allow you to have flawless skin each day.

How to Transition to Summer Makeup

As the sun shines down for more hours each day and the temperatures provide a lovely outdoor retreat, women everywhere are looking to lighten up their makeup from the dark days of the winter.

Lighter Appeal

While deep red lipsticks and heavier blushes can serve a purpose in the winter, they don’t often find themselves garnering the same acclaim during the summer months. You certainly do not need to replace all of your makeup, but you should look for some lighter alternatives.

Nothing is wrong with cheeks that look as though they were lightly kissed pink by the sun or a lavender eyeshadow where you might have chosen a deep plum just two months ago.

The Almighty Tan

When the weather is warm, you likely want to look as though you have spent a great deal of time outdoors whether you actually did not not. Using bronzer is the safe way to get a glow as skin cancer is a very real danger.

Do not choose a bronzer that is too dark though, or you could just end up looking dirty. Fake tanners are possibilities, but you should always choose ones that are specifically made for your face and that provide a natural appeal.

Waterproof All The Way

You might choose to use certain waterproof products all year long, but doing so is particularly important in the summer when sweat often gets in the way of beauty.

Choosing waterproof mascara and eyeliner, as well as investing in a good makeup remover, is a smart decision for the warmer months. If you are sweating, you don’t want your makeup to run off. Not only is it a beauty faux pas, but all of the makeup seeping into your eyes can make them start to burn. (see Shakura Malaysia online)

Beaches and The Pool

Some will say that you really don’t need to wear any makeup to either of these places, but you might feel uncomfortable without a touch. Always opt for waterproof, and go extremely light with the products.

You should bring some staples with you, as long as they won’t melt, since you will need to touch up your face after getting out of the pool or the ocean. You don’t want to throw your entire makeup routine away completely during the summer, but these tips can help you to look more appropriate for the season. Find Shakura beauty centres in KL in order to learn about the latest beauty treatments and regimens.

Eliminate Excessive Sweating With These Handy Tips

For some unlucky people, the problems associated with sweating extends far beyond wet armpits or stinky feet. If fact, there’s a small percentage of the population who simply sweat too much. Besides creating socially awkward situations, this condition, otherwise known as hyperhidrosis, can sometimes be a symptom of an underlying medical condition that needs to be treated.

Thankfully, most people can get relief from their hyperactive sweat glands with these tips:

Visit your doctor

Before you take any steps to eliminate or treat your excessive sweating, be sure to talk to a doctor first. There are literally dozens of conditions that can cause you be be sopping wet all day long. Heavy sweating that is a symptom of an underlying medical condition is known as secondary generalized hyperhidrosis. Treating the condition will generally eliminate the sweating.

When it’s not a symptom of a larger problem

Unfortunately, for about 1-3% of the population they just sweat too much. This condition is called primary focal hyperhidrosis. There is no underlying medical cause, it’s not a symptom of anything, and there’s no medical complications from the condition. However, you should still speak with your doctor as treatment options are be available. These treatment plans can help those who can’t stop sweating enjoy a normal life without embarrassment or constantly having to change clothing.

Learn the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant

You have a lot of options for underarm sweat management. Generally, these options fall into two categories: deodorant and antiperspirant. Deodorant has ingredients that attack the bacteria that produce bad smells when you sweat. Antiperspirant, on the other hand, prevents you from sweating in the first place. For best results, buy the antiperspirant with the highest percentage of active ingredients.

Apply antiperspirant at night

Most people slater on antiperspirant in the morning just before they had out the door or before exercising. However, the most effective time to put antiperspirant on is when you’re not going to perspire; for the large majority of the population, this is at night. Putting antiperspirant on at night allows the active ingredient to really work into your sweat glands, keeping you nice and dry the next day.

Don’t limit antiperspirant to armpits

Many people find relief from hyperhidrosis by applying antiperspirant to locations other than their armpits. However, please consult with your doctor first as some sensitive areas aren’t ideal for antiperspirant.

If you find that you can’t stop perspiring, don’t sweat it. The first step is to seek medical attention. From there, your doctor can determine if your excessive sweating is a symptom of a larger issue, or a very treatable condition. Once you find a treatment that works for you, enjoy staying dry all day long.

How to Transform Apple Juice into Sparkling Apple Mint Sorbet

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and they’re right. Apples are chock full of health benefits that can keep you healthy and regular. From the bright red, yellow, or green peels down to the core, the goodness of apples is legendary. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s possible to miss out on their excellent benefits because we are, well, tired of them. It’s sad but true. Thankfully, apples can be enjoyed in a variety of delicious ways, including flaky apple pies, sparkling apple cider, caramel apples, cinnamony apple crisp, or convenient apple juice. If you are looking to enjoy the benefits of apples but just don’t want to eat another apple slice, here is a delicious, refreshing, easy alternative. We think it would be equally delicious and appropriate at a formal wedding reception, a casual party, or even for an after-school snack, and we hope you’ll love it, too.

Sparkling Apple Mint Sorbet
First, combine 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then remove it from the heat and add four drops of peppermint extract. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of fresh apple juice until it’s well blended. Transfer the mixture to an ice cream freezer and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. When it’s finished, move it to the freezer and allow it to ripen for at least two hours. If you want, serve it with a sprig of mint for a garnish, and enjoy!

If You Don’t Have an Ice Cream Freezer
It’s perfectly fine if you don’t own an ice cream freezer. The great thing about an ice cream freezer is that it keeps the ice crystals moving so the recipe turns out smooth instead of chunky. You can achieve the same effect by freezing the sorbet in a shallow baking dish and mixing it well every few minutes as it freezes. You can use a hand-held mixer or just a spatula and a little muscle to keep those ice crystals broken up. Be warned: as it freezes, it will take more work to keep stirring it. Eventually, voila! Sorbet has arrived!

If you prefer, you can use fresh cider in place of the juice. The two are practically the same, except that cider undergoes less processing than juice. You can also substitute vanilla flavoring for the mint extract. A little imagination is all it takes to transform the health benefits of apples into a treat perfect for any occasion. Enjoy your day’s helping of apples, and give the doctor a rest!

Easy Treatment for Your Most Common Beauty Concerns

Improving your looks is a matter of taking some time to dedicate to a few simple lifestyle changes that will have big results. When discussing appearance, women typically have the same complaints, bags under their eyes, an uneven complexion and a less than bright smile. Fortunately, there is plenty that you can do to treat these beauty busters, and see real results fast.

The most effective puffy eye treatment is getting to the root of what is causing your puffy eyes and eliminating it. Allergies, alcohol and sodium can all cause bags under your eyes. You may also develop puffy eyes as a result of sleeping on your stomach, so fluid accumulates around the thin eye area overnight.

Treat existing puffiness by applying a cold, damp washcloth to the eyes for a few minutes before applying your makeup. Eye creams containing vitamin E or aloe can also reduce puffiness. Finally, consider sleeping in an eye mask, the gentle pressure it applies helps prevent the buildup of fluid around the eyes.

An uneven complexion is the result of slower cell turnover, which is a normal side effect of aging, combined with years of sun exposure. Frequent exfoliation will provide noticeable results quickly. You can use manual exfoliation, such as a facial brush, or chemical exfoliation, using a product containing retinol. Dark spots are the result of sun exposure, and can be lightened with products made specifically for this purpose. Results vary, but if you don’t see noticeable results after several months of regular use, you may want to visit a dermatologist for prescription strength options.

A less than gleaming white smile can give away your age. Cigarettes, coffee, tea, soda and red wine all discolor your teeth. Fortunately, whitening options have never been more available. Your dentist probably has a range of products to use, and if not, he can refer you to a cosmetic dentist who does. You can also take matters into your own hands with over the counter whitening strips, gels, toothpastes and mouthwashes.

Freshening up your look has never been easier or more affordable. With the many options available, ranging from lifestyle changes to help from healthcare professionals, there is no reason you shouldn’t feel confident every time you walk out the door.

How Aging Affects Bone Health

From the day we’re born, we don’t get any younger. Our bodies develop, hit a plateau, and then slowly begin degenerating. Just about everybody experiences neck pain at one time or another. Some people experience it more than others. Unless traumatically induced by an accident, most people that experience neck pain suffer from degenerative changes in the cervical spine.

The spine is divided into three areas. The cervical spine refers to the neck region. The thoracic spine is in the middle of the body, and the lumbar spine is in the lower back. No matter what part of the spine they are located in, degenerative changes occur in the joints between each spinal vertebra where the discs are located. Spinal stenosis is the most serious form of spinal degeneration and can be the source of significant pain and discomfort.

osteoporosis-vertebral-supportThe bones in the cervical spine consist of seven cervical vertebrae. Stenosis comes from the Greek word “stenos” which means narrow. In spinal stenosis, the spaces in the spine degenerate and become narrow, putting pressure on spinal nerve roots and sometimes on the spinal cord itself. Cervical spine stenosis usually causes symptoms in the shoulders, arms, and fingers, resulting in weakness, cramping, numbness, tingling, or pain.

Degenerative spinal stenosis is usually treated as conservatively as possible. This often involves nonsurgical treatment using acupuncture, physical therapy, or chiropractic treatment. Many chiropractors supplement their spine treatment with the same physical therapy modalities as physical therapists. Chiropractic treatment involves spinal adjustments or manipulations that are intended to restore spinal movement to the point of maximum medical improvement relative to the patent’s condition when they began treatment.

Other conservative treatment for cervical spine stenosis involves medication such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. Steroid or trigger point injections are the next step if or drug therapy is not successful.

The objective of any surgery for cervical spine stenosis is to relieve pressure on spinal nerves and properly align the spine again. This is done through removal, paring or adjusting the diseased cervical spine components. The surgical procedure for this is called a decompression laminectomy. It alleviates pressure on a nerve by creating more space for it. For proper vertebral alignment, fusion of two vertebrae might be necessary.

In the context of long term prognosis, surgery generally provides some pain relief while increasing mobility. The degenerative process will continue though with aging.

How IVF Acupuncture Works To Help Women with Infertility

Even though I was diagnosed with poly-cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) when I was just 21, the reality of infertility never really hit me until my husband and I were ready to start a family nearly a decade later. After more tests than I care to remember, four failed attempts at inter-uterine insemination, and one early miscarriage, we found ourselves in the office of a fertility specialist considering in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Six months and two failed IVF transfers later, we were back in that same office discussing options for the transfer of two embryos we had been lucky enough to freeze after my first IVF cycle. We had already unsuccessfully transferred four top-graded embryos. We were exhausted, physically, emotionally, and financially. We decided to take a few months off to regroup before trying again, and in the meantime, our doctor suggested IVF acupuncture.

In Chinese medicine, the practice of using of acupuncture to treat infertility dates back to the 11AD. Infertility has many different causes, many of which are treatable with acupuncture. By helping to restore the proper balance of reproductive hormones, acupuncture can be used to treat conditions such as recurrent miscarriage, PCOS, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, luteal phase defect, and hyperprolactimenia, just to name a few. Women trying to conceive after the age of 40 can benefit greatly from acupuncture as well, since it has been shown to improve vitality and overall health, including reproductive health.

Other causes of infertility cannot be treated with acupuncture alone. For example, if your tubes are blocked or you have tubal adhesions caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, acupuncture cannot resolve these issues and IVF is indicated. Whatever the reason why a patient decides to pursue IVF, acupuncture is still beneficial.

Acupuncture Before Embryo Transfer

Acupuncture works by stimulating the body´s meridians or energy channels. Western doctors believe that acupuncture works by stimulating the central nervous system. Whatever the mechanism, IVF acupuncture increases blood flow to reproductive organs in addition to helping balance reproductive hormones. During the ovarian stimulation phase of IVF, increased blood flow to the reproductive organs is thought to help promote follicular growth and improve egg quality. Increased local blood flow to the may also promote the thickening of the endometrium. Ultrasound studies have also shown that IVF acupuncture increases uterine blood flow, thereby improving implantation potential.

In addition to the physiological benefits of IVF acupuncture, women who undergo acupuncture during IVF also benefit from relaxation and stress-relief. Going through fertility treatments is not an easy journey. It is a journey fraught with worries over finances, cycles of hope and disappointment and powerful hormonal medications. Acupuncture is an effective tool for treating anxiety. It raises endorphin levels and lowers stress hormones. Patients going who undergo acupuncture while doing fertility treatments have been shown to manage their stress levels better. - Combine TCM Acupuncture with IVF or IUI to Increase Your Chances of Conception – Combine TCM Acupuncture with IVF or IUI to Increase Your Chances of Conception

Though research is still preliminary, it suggests that undergoing acupuncture during IVF increases conception rates. Whether due to increased blood flow to the reproductive organs, achieving a better balance of reproductive hormones, relieving stress, or a combination of these factors, acupuncture is a powerful tool that can contribute to the success of IVF treatments.

But not very many women know how to correctly apply eyeshadow so that it looks great and stays on all day. This article will provide a general guide for eye shadow application and how to choose the best shade and style for your particular skin tone and face shape. Read on to learn more.

The first thing to consider is where you are going to be wearing your eyeshadow. Are you going on a big date? Or is this eyeshadow makeup for every daywear at work or at home? Generally speaking, sparkly or shimmery eyeshadow is for evening wear, and matte eyeshadow or lightly shimmered shadow can be worn during the day.

Now consider what colors look best on you. All different shades and hues of brown shadow tend to look good on all skin types and skin tones. If you want to add some color, however, consider the following guidance. People with yellow undertones and olive skin tones should go toward pinks, purples, and violets, focusing on warmer shades to contrast their cooler toned skin. On the other hand, people who have pink undertones should try to play around with eyeshadows in cooler tones to counter their warm toned skin.

To do a classic eye with eyeshadow, start with an eye base or eye primer. You can find eye base at any pharmacy or beauty counter at a department store. Once your primer has dried, put on an even layer of neutral eyeshadow as a second base. Now are you are ready to start contouring. You may want to add your eyeliner at this point and smudge it with a dark shade of your chosen color of eyeshadow. Smudge the eyeshadow and then bring it up into your lid crease around the outer corners of your eyes. Now you must blend, blend, blond. Fill in any sparse areas of eyeshadow with your brush, dust with a setting powder, and apply some mascara as a final touch.
