A Vehicle with Global Demand: Should You Get That BMW?

BMW produces outstanding vehicles regardless of how you look at the picture. Both new and used models from BMW represent an outstanding investment. Their vehicles are reliable, hold their value well, and make their owners happy for years to come. When searching for a used BMW to meet your driving needs, there are a few pointers to keep in mind when hoping to get the absolute most for your money. Additionally, there are some used BMW models from the past that have proven to provide exceptional service and satisfaction to the drivers getting behind the wheel. By taking these considerations seriously, you canquickly call yourself the proud owner of one of BMW’s finest offerings.

The Big Factors

From a financial point of view, you must take depreciation into consideration when buying any type of used car. Like most cars, BMWs lose the most value immediately after they leave the lot and over the next three years of driving. The most conscientious investor will do well to invest their money in a BMW that is five to six years old. You pay a lower price for the vehicle up front and will lose less money after your purchase when dealing with vehicles in this age range. Any vehicle will require repairs and maintenance over time as well. Because of the foreign components, it can be more expensive and time consuming for local shops to handle these kinds of jobs. You can save time and money by making your purchase from local dealers that are qualified to provide service in the future on top of offering you some kind of warranty.

Do the Legwork

While conducting your research on pricing, do not neglect foreign sources and the Internet. In addition to checking forums, local listings, and Craig’s list, explore less conventional avenues for purchases such as a BMW Singapore price list, Asian markets, and sellers in countries where exceptional value is a regular part of the automotive market. In terms of the most popular models for used BMW sales, consider the following vehicles and their outstanding characteristics.

BMW 3 Series Production

The Used Car Cream

The BMW 3-Series offers excels in everything from handling and style to comfort and elegance on the interior. This rear-wheel drive, 4-door vehicle is one of the most common used BMWs to be found on the market today. It offers an inline, automatic-6 that comes with a substantially powerful engine to boot. This model was also offered with four-wheel drive capabilities as well. The BMW 5-Series is actually the second best-selling BMW in the U.S. market. It can offer drivers a manual transmission and can be found with a V8 in rare cases. Most often, used buyers are able to get their hands on an inline six, however. The interior of this vehicle is especially luxurious when it comes to the quality of the materials and the sophistication of the design. Finally, the BMW X3 represents a wonderful investment for drivers who are more focused on utility and space. It seats five while still offering drivers exceptional gas mileage.

5 Things to Check Before Buying a Used BMW

Buying a used BMW allows you to get a high quality car at a reasonable price. But it’s important to be sure that the car you’re getting is in excellent condition. If you’re looking for a used BMW in Singapore, you should check all the following before making the purchase.

bmw-bodywork

Check the bodywork of the vehicle to find out whether it is damage and been repair before.

1. Bodywork

While any used car is going to have a bit of wear and tear, before you commit to buying a used BMW, you should carefully examine the bodywork for any indications of damage or major repairs. One clue that a car may have been in an accident is if the surface paint is not the same shade across the car. Any used BMW should have a single, consistent paint colour over the entire vehicle. Otherwise, it’s probably had damage that’s been repaired.

body-parts

Gaps between the panels on a BMW should all be the same size, if it isn’t the same it could be a third-party parts.

2. Panels

The gaps between the panels on a BMW should all be the same size. If you see variations from one panel to the next, this is another indication of a significant accident and major repairs. It can also suggest that (instead of using the correct BMW replacement panels) the repair shop used inferior third-party parts.

3. Mileage

The first thing you should check when buying a used BMW is the mileage. As with any other used car, the more mileage the car has, the more likely it is to experience breakdowns. Make certain that the odometer has not been tampered with in any way. Disreputable sellers will attempt to “clock” the odometer to reduce the mileage shown. One way to catch this is to compare the available paperwork and service record against the reading you’re seeing. Also, if the BMW you’re looking at has an analogue odometer, the numbers you see may be out of alignment if there’s been any tampering.

bmw engine

Before purchasing a BMW car be sure to check out the engine to find out whether it contain problems.

4. Engine

Naturally, one of the most important things to do when purchasing a used BMW in Singapore (or anywhere else) is to check the engine. Look under the bonnet to see if there are any signs of corrosion or pitting. If there is oil on the engine, this means there is a leak somewhere that could result in a mechanical problem later. Examine the belts and hoses to be sure they are intact and free of cracks or splits. If you see dark oil stains on the BMW’s engine block, it indicates the engine needs a costly head gasket replacement.

Paperwork of bmw car

5. Paperwork

Before you pay for a used BMW, make sure that you carefully review all of the paperwork. For example, the VIN number in the paperwork should match the VIN number on the car. The VIN on a BMW can be found by looking through the windshield on the left side of the dash. Also make sure that there are no liens against the car before you buy it. Finally, make sure that you have been given the full service history for the vehicle. If there is an odd gap, this can indicate a major problem is being concealed.
While a used BMW is less expensive than a new one, it’s still a significant investment. You’ll want to be sure that you’re getting value for your money. Carefully examine any vehicle you’re considering before closing the deal.

4 Steps to Get Great Deal on a Used Car

Buying a second hand car for sale is a great way to save money when purchasing a vehicle. Many of these vehicles are in good or even great condition, and they are priced well below the sales price of a new vehicle. However, some deals are a better overall value than others, and you may currently be focused on trying to find a quality vehicle at a great price to get the best deal possible. By following four important steps when shopping for a used car, you can purchase your used car at a bargain price.

tt

Find vehicle’s information online that full fill your need instead of wasting time going around.

Locate Vehicles Online That Meet Your Needs

You could drive around to used car lots throughout the area to find an attractive vehicle that meets your needs, but this can be a frustrating and time-consuming experience. A better idea is to locate vehicles online that meet your needs and that are within your price range. There are many factors to review when buying a quality used car, but the first criteria to focus on is cost. The bottom line is that you should not waste time looking at vehicles that are not within your price range.

tt

Compare the price and features of vehicles before you decide to purchase.

Compare Prices and Features

After you have eliminated vehicles from your search that are not within your price range, you can then begin to compare prices and features of the different models that are available to you. Used car prices will vary significantly even amongst vehicles that are the same year, make and model due to the features in the car. This includes after-market features that the previous owner added to the vehicle. Everything from an upgraded sound system to superior quality tires will influence price. Consider which features are most important in your next vehicle, and avoid buying a car that has features you do not want. This simply will add cost to your purchase without adding value for you.

Think About Mileage

Another factor that will influence the cost of a used car is mileage. Cars that have been driven less frequently and heavily will generally have a higher sales price. Some may still be within their warranty period. The amount of use a used car has experienced is also important for your repair and maintenance tasks. Even a late model vehicle can be in decreased overall condition if it has been driven heavily, so avoid only focusing on the vehicle’s model year.

tt

Inspect the vehicle to clearly understand the condition of the vehicle.

Inspect the Vehicle Thoroughly

After you have located one or several vehicles that you are interested in, visit the used car dealership to inspect the vehicles in person. This should include a test drive of the vehicles as well as a thorough review of the interior and exterior. Many used cars will show at least a few small blemishes or signs of wear and tear, but you should avoid purchasing a vehicle that has major defects. You may consider having the vehicle that you are most interested in professionally inspected by a mechanic or automotive specialist. This will give you more insight about repair issues that you may not be able to discover through your own inspection of the vehicle.

Buying a used car is a great option for vehicle buyers who are looking for value when buying a vehicle. However, not all used cars provide you with the same overall level of value as others. There are many used cars to consider, and this can make it more challenging for you to find the right vehicle for your needs at a great price. By following these steps, you can quickly sort through the options and locate a quality vehicle at a great price.

5 Kitchen Design Tips that Make Mealtimes Easier

Designing a kitchen can be a daunting task, but it can also be fun. When you have a kitchen that fits your needs, life is easier, and you spend less time cleaning up and preparing food.

tt

Think what the floor plan you want to suit your the decoration of your home.

Consider the Floorplan

Choosing a floorplan that fits your needs is one of the most important decisions you can make in your kitchen. Do you want an open floorplan? Do you want a kitchen island or a butcher block? Do you want a breakfast bar? You should make sure that no matter what you decide, your kitchen has plenty of wide walkways so you can easily open your cabinets, your oven, your dishwasher and other doors while allowing others to pass by uninhibited. You’ll also need to take into account the original floorplan of your kitchen to determine what options are available to you.

tt

Choose a theme for your kitchen that you like.

Decide on a Theme

While your theme might not be quite as thematic as some kitchens (tropical island kitchen, rustic Italian farmhouse or retro 1950s style), you want to create a unifying feel for your space based on your needs and your family’s personality. Are you the type of person who doesn’t like to see clutter anywhere in your house? If so, you might want to incorporate a minimalistic theme into your kitchen with plenty of stainless steel and monochromatic features. If you are someone who likes a homey feel, you can incorporate warm colors, plush chairs and farmhouse details into your space. If you’re having a difficult time choosing a theme, focus on one decorative item, like a pair of curtains you love or your favorite painting, then build your kitchen’s theme around those items.

tt

Think about the functionality and design before choosing the counter tops.

Choose the Countertops

The two design factors to think about when considering a countertop are functionality and design. Many people consider design without thinking about functionality. First, you’ll need to decide on a material. While tiles can fit into your theme quite nicely, consider how easy (or how difficult) they might be to clean or take care of. Cleaning the grout between the tiles is difficult and can be costly. Maybe you want a stainless steel countertop to fit in with your minimalistic theme; however, you’re going to need to use a special stainless steel cleaner to keep those countertops shiny. Granite is always a good choice when it comes to countertops since it’s easy to clean and comes in a variety of colors and finishes.

tt

Make it easy for food and utensils storage.

Make Storage Easy

Think about how you like to cook, store your food and utensils and complete other tasks in the kitchen. Are the members of your family short or tall? Will you need assistance reaching high shelves? Do you have back problems that make bending down to reach short shelves difficult? Considering how you store items in your kitchen will help you decide how to arrange your shelves and drawers. While drawers are popular in a lot of kitchens, replacing cabinets, you might need to open up several drawers to find one dish or pan, where you would only need to open one cabinet. Do you use a lot of canned goods? If so, you might want to incorporate a lazy susan into your kitchen. Do you do paperwork or pay bills in your kitchen? You might want to get a built-in desk installed in one of your cabinets to store pens, pencils, markers and a white board.

tt

Prepare a small dining table for children!

Choose How You Want to Eat

Many kitchens now have eat-in dining nooks and breakfast bars. If you have little kids, you might not want to opt for a breakfast bar that is extremely high and is hard for little kids to reach. Instead, you could opt for a breakfast nook with small wood dining tables to make breakfast, lunch and clean-up a breeze.

6 Fun Christmas Decoration Ideas to Go Home for the Holidays For

With the holidays roaring upon us with a rush of jingle bells and tinsel, it is important to make sure that you are ready. One part of being ready involves getting those decorations up, and its the same story every year. You think that you’d rather not bother, and you groan through the whole process, but at the end, when the lights are up and when the house is still, you are always glad that you did. Learn more about what you can do to brighten up the rooms of your home.

Dining Room Fun

When you want to make sure that people are enjoying themselves as they eat, remember that decorations in the dining room are lovely. As a centrepiece for your dinner table, think about creating something lovely with a basket full of fruit. While you can use fresh to call back to a antique Victorian tradition, you can also look into using dried fruit to give the home a charmingly spicy-sweet aroma. Wreathe the dining chairs (get New Year discount here!) with a bit of holly or tinsel for an extra festive look, and think about changing out the regular tablecloth for something that feels properly festive to you.

Snowflakes on the Windows

One fantastic method of decoration involves you and the children. Show your kids how you can cut snowflakes out of pieces of paper by creasing the paper into triangles and then cutting notches out of the triangle. When the paper unfolds, there is a beautiful snowflake. Tape these snowflakes to the window to add a bit of winter enchantment to the living room or to the children’s bedrooms.

Paper Chains

What winter holiday would be complete without paper chains? Purchase some construction paper and show your children how to cut off strips and to make paper garlands by linking them together. You can make surprisingly long garlands in a surprisingly short amount of time when everyone is pitching in. Paper chains may be made out of simple construction paper, but you can opt for something metallic and sparkling as well.

Luminarias

When you want to create a special lovely glow for your holiday parties, why not set out luminarias? Luminarias are simple candle lights that are set out in the snow, guiding people to your door. To make a luminaria, simply fill the bottom of a small paper bag with about an inch of sand, and then plant a tealight candle in it. Light the candle and watch the plain paper bag turn into a beautifully fragile lantern. Luminarias are a great choice for Christmas eve or for a party around the holiday season.

Tapestries

When the holidays roll around, things are usually pretty chilly, and even if bare walls are lovely for a very clean aesthetic, they can feel quite chilly when there is snow on the ground. Look into purchasing tapestries or fabric wall hangings and nail them up to the wall. Not only does this give you a little bit of visual variety, you will also find that it helps warm your home up both in terms of temperature and texture.

Bells

One of the ways that we know the season is upon us is the bells. The delicate chime of bells is a lovely sound to hear, and you can incorporate it into your winter decorations as well. Hang bells from the door handles or put a little shopkeeper’s bell over your door. These tinkling sounds tell you when friends and family members are coming and going.

Holiday winter decorating takes some effort, but at the end of the day, it is always worth it!

5 Rental Car Tips for Visitors to Singapore

For some people, renting a car is a necessity. For others, it’s a fun addition to a vacation or special occasion. Whatever your reason for renting a car, if you’re going to do it, you may as well save as much money as you can on it. Here are some tips on how to do just that for car rentals in Singapore.

How Low Can You Go?

Even if you’ve already made a rental car reservation, it’s strongly recommended to keep checking in for special deals and coupons that can further drive down the cost. If you find something better, cancel your reservation. Most auto rental agencies will allow you to do this even if you’re due to pick up your car that day. You may also wish to consider visiting websites that automatically narrow down the best rental rates for you, which can save you a lot of time.

Take Advantage of Discount Codes

If you have any discount codes available to you, use them. These may come from the rental agency itself, your credit card company, AAA or a frequent flyer program. You can also search online for discount codes that other people have had success with. You don’t risk anything by giving it a shot, but you do stand to gain a lot of savings.

Steer Clear of Airport Rentals

Food and drinks cost an arm and a leg when you buy them at the airport, so why should car rentals be any different? If at all possible, try to avoid renting a car from one of the kiosks at the airport. Their concession fees can make up as much as ten percent of the total cost of your rental. You’re likely to spend less money by taking a cab to a rental agency that isn’t on airport property.

Timing is Everything

Most agencies offer lower rates when you rent for a week. It’s a lot like buying in bulk. When you reserve a car for more days, you save on the price per day. This can be especially helpful where you’re likely to be vacationing for more than just a few days, such as Singapore. A budget car rental company in Singapore will cost you significantly less if you take advantage of the company’s weekly rates, and you’ll probably want a car for at least that long, anyway.

Insure With Care

The company you rent from will likely try to sell you all kinds of insurance, but stop and consider whether it’s really necessary, or just a waste of money. If you have your own insurance, you may not need theirs. Furthermore, it’s possible that your credit card carrier may already provide rental car insurance.

Renting a car might seem straightforward, but there are all sorts of things to consider if you want the best deal. Try some of these tips with you next rental and see how much you can save.
